Légende de Saba

Légende de Saba is a spicy amber from Reine de Saba, composed by Maurice Roucel and released in 2022. Spicy is the word everyone uses; about two thirds also find it woody, floral and ambery, and a third pick up musky or resinous facets.

Cloves and cumin dominate the opening, the first warm and medicinal, the second dry and slightly animalic, so it starts with real character rather than freshness. Geranium and rose bring a green, rosy floral heart that softens the spice without hiding it. Balsam fir adds a resinous, slightly piney coolness, and patchouli an earthy depth. Myrrh gives the base a bitter, balsamic warmth, and ambroxan and musk extend it into a smooth, radiant, skin-like amber that lasts well.
