Black pepper opens it with a sharp, dry heat, softened by bergamot and a slightly tannic black tea note that gives the top a dry, elegant edge. Cardamom adds a cool, aromatic spice. The heart is a rose-geranium pairing: Bourbon geranium brings a green, minty, rosy brightness, and rose fills it out with a softer floral sweetness, while clary sage adds a herbal, slightly musky tone. Guaiac wood and vetiver anchor the base with smooth, smoky and rooty woodiness.
It is worn by anyone. The fresh spice and green rose suit spring and autumn and daytime wear, and it should appeal to someone who likes rose but wants it peppery and tea-like rather than sweet.
