Tobacco

Tobacco from Al-Jazeera Perfumes, a Qatari house, was composed by Julien Rasquinet and released in 2022. Everyone who has described it finds it sweet, and about half also pick out spice, green, wood, resin and citrus, which makes for a rounder, more complex scent than the name alone suggests.

The notes are unordered: tobacco and plum give the sweet, slightly fruity core, cinnamon adds warmth and vanilla smooths the edges. Frankincense brings a cool, resinous smoke, cedar a dry woodiness, and clary sage and lemon a herbal, bright lift at the start that keeps the whole from feeling heavy.

It is worn by anyone. No community data on longevity, sillage or season has been gathered yet; sweet tobacco and incense compositions generally sit best in autumn and winter and in the evening. It is sold as a bottle without a stated volume.
