Sidra Wood, created by Quentin Bisch for the Qatari house Al-Jazeera Perfumes in 2023, is woody and floral in equal measure: everyone who describes it uses both words, and about half also find it spicy, sweet, resinous and leathery. It is worn by anyone.
Saffron opens it with a warm, slightly metallic, leathery spice, and geranium adds a green, rosy sharpness. Rose forms the floral heart, full and slightly sweet. The base is rich: labdanum brings a sweet, resinous, ambery depth, leather a smooth, dry grip, and vanilla a soft sweetness. Akigalawood gives a dry, peppery, patchouli-like woodiness, and cashmeran a warm, musky softness that lingers.
The saffron-rose-leather structure points to autumn and winter evenings and to dressier occasions. It should appeal to anyone who likes rose with resin and leather rather than with fruit.
