Palace from the Qatari house Al-Jazeera Perfumes is a floral worn by anyone, composed by Jean-Louis Sieuzac and released in 2018. Everyone who has described it calls it floral, and a minority also find it woody, musky, ambery and citrusy.
The notes are listed as one group. Bergamot gives a brief citrus lift at the start; mandarin blossom and rose carry the heart, the blossom bringing a sweet, honeyed orange-flower freshness and the rose a classic petal softness; and the base of patchouli, ambergris and musk adds earth, a salty warmth and a clean skin-like finish. It reads as a polished floral rather than an oud-heavy Middle Eastern scent.
Wear reports have not been gathered, so longevity and sillage are unknown. A rose and orange-blossom floral of this kind is wearable for most of the year, leaning towards daytime in spring and evening in cooler months, and suits anyone who likes classic florals. It is sold as a full bottle and in a 2 ml sample.
