Oud Forever, composed by Jeanne-Marie Faugier for Al-Jazeera Perfumes in 2024, is a spicy woody scent worn by anyone. Spice and wood are what everyone notices; a minority of wearers also find it green, floral, resinous and citrusy.
The notes are listed as a single blend. The spice comes from cinnamon, saffron and pink pepper, warm and slightly leathery. Bergamot, green leaves and green notes give a fresh, leafy lift, and jasmine adds a soft floral thread. The woody core is cedar, guaiac wood and sandalwood, dry, smoky and creamy by turns, with benzoin adding a balsamic sweetness, musk a smooth finish and Ambrox Super a mineral, ambery warmth that lengthens the drydown.
Although oud does not appear among the listed notes, the saffron, cinnamon and smoky woods follow the pattern of an oud-style composition, and the result reads as something for cooler weather and evenings rather than a light daytime spray.
