Mosaic Orient

Mosaic Orient, from Al-Jazeera Perfumes in 2020, is a woody floral made to be worn by anyone. Woody and floral carry equal weight in how people describe it, and about half also find it ambery and citrusy.

Six notes are listed together rather than as a pyramid. Bergamot provides the citrus brightness, a fresh, slightly bitter lift at the start. Rose and ylang-ylang form the floral side, the rose full and slightly spicy, the ylang-ylang creamy and rich with a faintly banana-like sweetness. Incense adds a cool, dry smoke, and sandalwood and patchouli make up the woody base, the sandalwood creamy and smooth, the patchouli earthy and dark. Together these give the warm, ambery impression many wearers notice without any amber material being listed.
