Andalusian Palace, released by Al-Jazeera Perfumes in 2023 and composed by Olivier Cresp, is a woody fragrance with a sweet, mossy edge, worn by anyone. Everyone describes it as woody; about half also find it gourmand, green and amber. The notes are given as a single blend rather than a pyramid.
The wood comes from several directions: agarwood brings a dark, resinous, slightly smoky depth, guaiac wood a dry, smoked-tea quality, and cypriol an earthy, leathery woodiness that often accompanies oud. Ambroxan adds a clean, mineral, ambery radiance that lifts the heavier materials and gives the scent projection. Oakmoss contributes the green facet, a dry, bitter, forest-floor note that keeps the blend from being purely warm. Praline is the surprise, a nutty, caramelised sweetness that softens the woods and explains the gourmand votes.
Taken together it reads as a modern, sweetened oud, warm rather than fresh, better suited to cooler weather and evening wear, and to anyone who likes their woods rich but approachable.
