Rital Date

Rital Date is a woody, spicy and aromatic scent built around the idea of a Mediterranean dinner, with herbs, citrus and resinous woods. Versatile Paris, a French house, released it in 2022; the perfumers are Camille Chemardin, Amélie Bourgeois and Elia Chiche, and it is worn by anyone.

The opening is bright and savoury at once: bergamot, mandarin and bitter orange give the citrus lift, while basil, rosemary, oregano and fennel bring a green, herbal sharpness, with black and pink pepper adding heat. The middle leans into fir and cypress, resinous and slightly cool, with heliotrope and pistachio adding a soft, nutty sweetness. Cedar, sandalwood and guaiac wood form the base, with ambroxan and musk adding a smooth, long-lasting warmth and immortelle a faint maple-syrup richness.
