Aldehydes and bergamot give a sparkling, slightly soapy opening in the classic style, with coriander adding a dry, spicy touch. Rose, jasmine, orange blossom and violet form a full, old-fashioned bouquet, rich rather than dewy. The base is dense: sandalwood and vetiver for creamy and earthy woods, patchouli for depth, labdanum for a resinous amber sweetness, tobacco for a dry, slightly smoky warmth, and tonka bean to round it off.
