Inverness

Inverness is a quiet, dry wood from Memo Paris, released in 2023. Wood is the impression everyone shares; about a third also find it green or floral.

The note list is short and given without stages. Mate, a green tea-like leaf, provides the green, slightly bitter freshness at the start. Orris root adds a cool, powdery softness that is the only floral element, and it blends into the woods rather than standing apart. Those woods are the core: cedar for a clean, pencil-shaving dryness, guaiac wood for a smoother, faintly smoky warmth, sandalwood for creaminess, and amyris, a balsamic wood, to tie them together. There is no sweetness to speak of.
