Tamarindo, from Memo Paris in 2018, was composed by Sophie Labbé. It is a sweet fruity scent: everyone describes it as gourmand, about two thirds also find it floral and citrusy, and a third notice wood, resin and amber in the base.
The opening is pineapple and orange with bergamot, a tropical, juicy citrus with a leafy edge from green notes that keeps it from being pure fruit salad. The heart is peach, jasmine sambac and freesia, soft and sunny, the peach fleshy and the flowers light. The base of vanilla absolute and benzoin is warm and resinous-sweet, with patchouli adding earth so the finish is not all sugar.
Most people find the longevity moderate and the projection moderate, with a fair share calling it strong. It is voted strongly for summer, then spring, and mostly for the daytime. Worn by anyone, it suits hot days and holidays, when a sweet, fruity tropical scent feels in place rather than out of season.
