O, Unknown! by Imaginary Authors, released in 2017 and composed by Josh Meyer, is a green, mossy tea scent with a powdery, resinous base. Everyone who describes it calls it green, and a minority also find it woody, musky, floral or amber-like.
Black tea is the centre, dry, tannic and slightly smoky, like a cup left to steep too long. Oakmoss and moss give a damp, forest-floor greenness that suits the tea and gives the scent its earthy, slightly melancholy character. Orris root adds a cool, powdery softness through the middle. Sandalwood brings a creamy wood to the base, tolu balsam a sweet, slightly cinnamon-like resin, and musk a soft, skin-like finish.
O, Unknown! is worn by anyone. Most wearers find its longevity moderate and its projection moderate to intimate, so it stays close. It is voted mainly for autumn and winter and leans towards daytime, suiting a quiet, contemplative scent for cool, grey days.
