Gold Incense from Carolina Herrera, composed by Pierre-Constantin Guéros in 2017, is a sweet, woody incense. Wood is what everyone notices; most also find it gourmand, and a third pick up spice, greenery, amber and citrus.
Bergamot opens it with a clean brightness, and angelica adds a green, slightly bitter, herbal note. Cinnamon brings a dry, warm spice to the heart, with marigold and French marigold adding a bitter, slightly sharp floral tone. Incense runs through the middle and base, dry and resinous, alongside labdanum for a dark, balsamic warmth. Atlas cedar and cedar give it a dry woody structure, sandalwood a creamy smoothness, and vanilla and Madagascar vanilla a sweet, rounded finish.
It is worn by anyone and suits autumn and winter and the evening, for someone who likes incense softened with vanilla and cinnamon rather than kept austere.
