Zambesi

Zambesi from the Italian house Olfattology, released in 2021, is a warm, sweet woody amber with a spiced floral heart. Woody is the word everyone uses for it; about two thirds also find it gourmand, floral, ambery or citrusy, and a third spicy.

Bergamot and tangerine give the opening a bright, juicy citrus lift, and cinnamon adds a warm, sweet spice. Jasmine and magnolia make up the floral heart, the jasmine warm and rich, the magnolia clean and slightly lemony. The base is where the warmth lives: cedar and sandalwood for dry and creamy woods, patchouli for earthiness, labdanum and Peru balsam for a rich, resinous, slightly vanilla-like amber, vanilla and tonka bean for sweetness, and ambergris and musk for a warm, salty, lasting finish.
