Rose America is a fresh, musky rose with a salty, marine twist, released by the French house Une Nuit Nomade in 2017 and composed by Annick Menardo. It is worn by anyone.
Rose, including Bulgarian rose, is the centre of the scent, but it is set in an unusual frame: sea water and sea notes give a salty, airy freshness, so the flower feels windswept rather than romantic. Raspberry adds a tart, juicy sweetness, and carnation a peppery, slightly clove-like warmth. Heliotrope brings a soft, almondy powder to the base, and ambrette, a plant-derived musk, gives a skin-like, slightly nutty warmth that keeps the whole thing close and clean.
It suits spring and summer and daytime wear, and anyone who likes rose but wants it fresh and modern rather than heavy or sweet should find it a good fit.
