Ornate Moon is a powdery, woody oud from the French brand Thomas Kosmala, released in 2024, composed by Thomas Kosmala and worn by anyone. Woody is how everyone describes it, most also find it musky, floral and ambery, and a third notice sweetness, which fits a soft, rounded take on oud rather than a harsh one.

Rose and iris form the heart, the rose warm and slightly jammy, the iris cool, powdery and faintly earthy, and together with a general powdery softness they give the scent its velvety, make-up-like texture from early on. Agarwood sits beneath them, dark, resinous and faintly medicinal, but it is kept smooth by what surrounds it: incense for a dry, gentle smoke, patchouli for an earthy depth, and vanilla for a creamy sweetness that softens the darker notes.
