Rose and iris form the heart, the rose warm and slightly jammy, the iris cool, powdery and faintly earthy, and together with a general powdery softness they give the scent its velvety, make-up-like texture from early on. Agarwood sits beneath them, dark, resinous and faintly medicinal, but it is kept smooth by what surrounds it: incense for a dry, gentle smoke, patchouli for an earthy depth, and vanilla for a creamy sweetness that softens the darker notes. Amber and musk form the base, warm, radiant and skin-like, carrying the powder and wood for a long, quiet finish.
It is a scent for cooler weather and evenings, worn by anyone who likes oud softened with iris and vanilla rather than sharpened with spice.
