Blue Velvet by the French house Ggema, released in 2023 and composed by Jordi Fernández, is a dense spicy scent built on oud and sandalwood. Everyone who describes it calls it spicy; more than half also find it woody, and a minority notice musky or floral facets.

Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and cardamom make up the spice cabinet at the front, giving a warm, dry, slightly sweet heat. Saffron adds a leathery, honeyed depth, and rose brings a soft floral note that keeps the spices from feeling flat. The base is agarwood, sandalwood and patchouli, which together smell dark, creamy and earthy, with musk rounding the finish so it sits close to the skin.
