Rose d'Isparta by Boucheron, released in 2020 and composed by Sonia Constant, is a spicy rose. Spicy and floral are the accords everyone names; most also find it gourmand, musky and amber, and about a third note a woody side. It is a warm, sweet take on the flower rather than a fresh one.
The notes are listed together. Ginger and cinnamon give a warm, tingling opening, with saffron adding a leathery spice. Turkish rose and rose form the heart, deep and slightly jammy, with freesia and hawthorn adding a lighter, greener floral touch. Incense threads a dry smoke through the middle. The base is rich: vanilla and tonka bean bring sweetness, sandalwood a creamy wood, amber a resinous warmth, and musk and ambrette a soft, skin-like, slightly nutty finish.
