Humilitas

Humilitas is a bright floral with citrus, spice and a soft amber base, made by the British house Memoize London and released in 2019. Everyone who describes it calls it floral; about three quarters also find it citrusy, and half notice spicy, woody, musky or amber sides.

Bergamot, lemon and mandarin give a sunny, zesty opening, with nutmeg and saffron adding a gentle warmth. Rose, jasmine and lily fill the heart, rich and slightly heady, while iris and powdery notes soften them with a cool, cosmetic smoothness. Artemisia adds a faint bitter-green edge. The base is labdanum, resins and amber for a sweet, balsamic warmth, with sandalwood, vanilla and musk rounding it into a creamy drydown.
