Rebel Hearts

Rebel Hearts is a sweet rose from Keiko Mecheri, composed by Keiko Mecheri herself and released in 2018 as a feminine fragrance. People describe it as gourmand and floral in equal measure, and about half also find it woody, resinous, ambery or citrusy.

Citruses give the opening a brief, bright lift before the rose arrives. Turkish rose and rose together form the heart, full, slightly jammy and a little spicy. Amaretto is the twist: a sweet, almond-liqueur note that adds a boozy, marzipan-like warmth and pulls the rose towards dessert. Madagascar vanilla and vanilla deepen that sweetness, benzoin adds a soft, resinous, slightly balsamic warmth, and patchouli brings an earthy, chocolatey depth that keeps the whole thing from floating away. Amber rounds off the base with a lasting glow.
