Loukhoum by Keiko Mecheri, released in 1997, is a sweet almond-and-rose scent in the style of Turkish delight, positioned as a feminine fragrance. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand; about two thirds also find it floral, and a minority notice woody or musky sides.
Hawthorn opens it with a soft, slightly powdery, honeyed floral note. The heart pairs rose with almond, the rose sweet and jammy, the almond marzipan-like and creamy, which together give the scent its confectionery character. Floral notes round out the middle. White honey and vanilla build the base into a thick, golden sweetness, with musk adding a soft, skin-like warmth and woodsy notes a little dryness to keep it from becoming cloying.
Most wearers find Loukhoum long lasting, and a sizeable minority call it eternal, with a moderate to strong projection. It is voted mainly for winter and autumn and leans towards daytime wear, suiting a cold-weather comfort scent for someone who loves sweet rose and almond.
