Loukhoum Parfum du Soir

Loukhoum Parfum du Soir by Keiko Mecheri, released in 2008 in parfum concentration, is the darker, evening version of the house's Turkish delight theme for women. Sweetness is what everyone picks up; most also describe it as woody, and a third find it floral and resinous.

Almond and rose are the loukhoum pairing, the almond sweet and marzipan-like, the rose soft and jammy, and together they smell of the confection itself. Vanilla and tonka bean deepen the sweetness with a creamy, hay-like warmth, and benzoin adds a sweet, balsamic resin. What makes it a parfum du soir is the base: patchouli brings an earthy, slightly chocolatey darkness, and agarwood, or oud, a smoky, resinous depth that pulls the sweetness towards something richer and more mysterious.
