Pink pepper gives the opening a gentle, rosy warmth and a little sparkle before the flowers arrive. Gardenia and tuberose are the heart, and they are a classic pairing: gardenia creamy, green and slightly mushroomy, tuberose heady, sweet and a little rubbery. Ylang-ylang adds a soft, banana-like richness that smooths the two together. Underneath, patchouli brings an earthy, dark depth, and Peru balsam a warm, vanilla-tinged resinous sweetness that keeps the flowers from floating away.
The character points to evenings and to spring and summer, when lush white florals feel most at home, and it should suit someone who loves gardenia and tuberose and wants them in a warm, slightly spiced form.
