La Fenice Pour Homme from the Italian house The Merchant of Venice, released in 2016, is a spicy, resinous fragrance for men. Spice is what everyone notices; most also find it floral and warm with amber, and a third pick up wood, herbs and leather.
Mandarin orange, basil and violet leaf open it bright, green and a little sharp, with black pepper and pepper adding a warm bite. The heart is iris and apple blossom, powdery and softly floral, warmed by cloves. Frankincense and olibanum bring a dry, resinous smoke, leather a dark depth, and cedar and amber a dry, warm finish.
It is marketed as masculine and suits autumn and winter and the evening, for someone who likes pepper and incense with a powdery iris heart.
