Handfidance by Once is a woody fragrance from 2021, composed by Lucas Sieuzac, with smaller touches of sweetness, musk, flowers, resin and amber. Woods clearly lead, but they are softened and warmed rather than left dry.
Hinoki wood brings a clean, slightly lemony, temple-like freshness, while Texas cedar adds a smoky, pencil-shaving dryness. Patchouli contributes an earthy depth, and a touch of rose gives a soft floral note. Oud adds a darker, slightly animalic woodiness. Vanilla, tonka bean and Siam benzoin warm everything up with a sweet, resinous glow, and musk smooths the finish.
Worn by anyone, it suits autumn and winter, evenings and people drawn to wood-forward scents that still feel comforting. The resins and vanilla make it approachable for those new to oud and cedar, while the hinoki keeps a calm, contemplative freshness running through it from start to finish.
