Santal Wood from Ajmal, released in 2014, is a spicy sandalwood fragrance in the Arabian style. Wood is what everyone notices; most also find it spicy, and about half pick up a floral side.
Ginger, cardamom and cumin open it warm, dry and a little earthy, the cumin giving it a slightly savoury edge. Rose and jasmine sit in the heart, softening the spices with a warm floral sweetness, and marigold and French marigold add a bitter, herbal note. The base is sandalwood, creamy and smooth, backed by cedar for dryness, patchouli for earth and agarwood for a dark, resinous depth.
It is worn by anyone and has the warm, grounded character of a cool-weather scent, for someone who likes sandalwood kept dry and spicy rather than sweet, with a touch of oud underneath.
