Rose Hubris is a green, mossy rose from Ex Nihilo, released in 2014 and credited to Givaudan. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, and about half each add green, woody, musky and resinous. It is worn by anyone.
Litchi opens it with a sweet, slightly rosy fruitiness that leads naturally into the flower. Rose de Mai and rose form the heart, fresh and petal-like rather than jammy. Fenugreek is the unusual touch, adding a warm, maple-like, faintly nutty tone. The base is what gives it the chypre-style structure: oakmoss for a dry, damp-forest greenness, patchouli for earthy depth, labdanum for a sweet, resinous amber, and musk to soften the finish.
