The Beat, released by Burberry in 2008 and composed by Dominique Ropion, Olivier Polge and Béatrice Piquet, combines spicy, woody, floral and citrus impressions equally, with green and musky sides. It is a light, tea-tinged floral.

It opens with pink pepper and cardamom for a light, cool spice, and bergamot and mandarin orange for a fresh citrus lift. The heart is delicate and airy: bellflower gives a soft, green floral note, tea a dry, slightly bitter elegance, and iris a cool, powdery tone. The base is clean and woody, with cedar and vetiver giving a dry, earthy structure, and white musk a soft finish.

Wearers report moderate to long lasting wear and a moderate trail. It is voted for spring and autumn and mostly for daytime, so it suits work, everyday wear and transitional weather, for someone who likes refined, understated florals with a spicy tea twist.
