Fève Tonka de Canaima

Boucheron's Fève Tonka de Canaima is built around tonka bean and almond, and people describe it accordingly: everyone says gourmand, about half add woody and floral, and a minority notice a resinous side. Alexis Dadier composed it in 2022, and it is worn by anyone.

Tonka bean is the centre of the scent, warm, hay-like and sweet with a natural hint of almond, and almond and bitter almond push that further towards marzipan, the bitter variety adding a slightly sharp, cherry-stone edge that keeps it from being cloying. Vanilla deepens the sweetness, and sandalwood gives it a smooth, creamy, woody body. Violet and rose add a soft, powdery floral layer, more a cosmetic softness than a bouquet. Labdanum brings a warm, balsamic resin, and patchouli grounds it with a touch of earthiness.
