Clary sage is the green half. It smells herbal and slightly bitter, with a hay-like, faintly sweet, almost tea-like undertone and a touch of something cool and mineral. Musk is the other half, clean and soft, giving the sage a warm, skin-like cushion so the herb does not feel raw. With only two notes, there is no real opening, heart and base; the balance simply shifts from the herbal brightness towards the musk as the hours pass.
