Oud de Burgas is a dry, spiced oud from the Spanish house Santi Burgas, released in 2015 and composed by Chris Maurice and Santi Burgas. Everyone who describes it calls it woody, and a minority add spicy, floral and amber. It is worn by anyone.
Madagascar cloves give a warm, medicinal spice at the start. Indian oud is the centre, dark, smoky and slightly animalic, and cypriol deepens it with an earthy, inky woodiness. Orris root adds a cool, powdery, faintly floral contrast that keeps the woods from feeling flat. The base is built from guaiac wood, resinous and smoky, gurjan balsam for a soft, balsamic sweetness, cedar for dryness and Australian sandalwood for a creamy, smooth finish.
