Epine du Desert Eau de Parfum

Epine du Desert Eau de Parfum is a dry, spicy floral from the Omani house Ojar, released in 2022, composed by Dalia Izem and worn by anyone. Spicy, woody and floral are the three words everyone uses for it, and about half also find it leathery, which fits a composition of seven notes in which each is clearly present.

Pimento opens it with a warm, clove-like, slightly sweet spice, and saffron adds its dry, leathery, faintly metallic edge, so the start is hot and arid rather than fresh. The heart is rose and jasmine, the rose dark and slightly jammy, the jasmine warm and creamy, and they read as flowers growing out of dust rather than a garden bouquet. The base is where the desert of the name lies: dry wood gives a parched, slightly dusty structure, sandalwood a creamy smoothness, and suede a soft, powdery leather that is what people notice as leather.

It is a scent for cooler weather and evenings, worn by anyone who likes spiced rose with dry woods and suede rather than sweetness.
