Halwa Kiss from the Omani house Ojar, created by Dalia Izem in 2021, is a dessert in fragrance form: everyone who describes it calls it both spicy and gourmand, and about half also find it floral and ambery.
The ingredient list reads like a sweet shop. Dates and honey supply a thick, syrupy sweetness, while pistachio, sesame and roasted nuts give it a toasted, nutty texture rather than a candied one.
