Routes Nomades

Spicy and woody through and through, Routes Nomades from Ojar is a 2021 composition by Nanako Ogi, worn by anyone. A minority of those who describe it also find floral, ambery and leathery sides to it.

The notes come as one list rather than a pyramid, but they fall into natural groups. Cardamom, ginger and cinnamon supply the spice, from cool and green to warm and sweet. Cypress adds a resinous, slightly bitter evergreen freshness, and ylang-ylang contributes a creamy floral softness in the middle. The base rests on vetiver, patchouli, incense and leather: earthy, smoky and dry, with a faint sweetness from the spices still showing through.

Wear reports are too few to say how long it lasts or how far it projects. The ingredients suggest an autumn and winter scent, more evening than morning, for anyone who likes incense and leather with a kitchen-spice warmth rather than a sugary one.
