Hercules

Hercules from Maison Alhambra, released in 2022, is a spicy, woody scent worn by anyone. Nearly everyone describes it as spicy and woody, and about half also pick up green, floral, resinous or ambery facets.

Cinnamon and pepper open it, warm and dry with a bit of bite. The heart is dark and smoky: tobacco leaf and incense give it a resinous, slightly churchy depth, labdanum adds a leathery amber warmth, and osmanthus brings a soft apricot-like floral note that keeps it from turning severe. The base is long and woody, cedar and vetiver underneath a smooth, radiant layer of Iso E Super, with vanilla and musk softening the finish.

About half of wearers report long lasting performance and most of the rest call it moderate. Sillage is mostly moderate, staying reasonably close. It is voted mainly for winter and autumn and clearly for night, so it reads as a cold-weather evening scent, warm and a little smoky, for anyone who likes tobacco and incense without heaviness.
