White Gold

White Gold from Louis Cardin is woody, floral and ambery all at full strength, which is a lot of agreement for a scent built on only three recorded notes. It was released in 2018 as a feminine fragrance.

The pyramid could not be simpler. Jasmine is the whole of the opening, a warm, sweet white flower with a slightly heady, indolic edge, so the scent begins as a straightforward floral. Unnamed woody notes form the heart, giving it a dry, smooth structure that pulls the jasmine away from anything girlish. Amber is the base, a soft, warm, slightly resinous sweetness that rounds off the wood and carries the dry-down.

Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported. Jasmine over wood and amber is a warm, evening-leaning structure that suits autumn and winter, and it should appeal to someone who wants a floral with weight rather than freshness, and who prefers a scent that does one thing clearly.
