Boss Bottled Unlimited, from Hugo Boss in 2014, is one of the fresher members of the Boss Bottled line. Everyone who describes it reaches for the same set of words at once, spicy, sweet, green, floral, aromatic and citrusy, which suggests a well-blended scent where no single facet dominates.
Mint and grapefruit open it with a cold, bitter freshness, and violet leaf adds a green, cucumber-like edge. The heart is sweeter and warmer: pineapple brings a juicy tropical note, cinnamon a soft spice, and rose a light floral that rounds the two off. The base is sandalwood, white musk and labdanum, creamy and clean with a faint ambery resin.
Most wearers report moderate longevity, with a minority finding it weak, and the sillage is moderate to intimate. Summer and spring take most of the seasonal votes, and it is worn mainly by day. It is a sensible warm-weather daily scent for someone who wants freshness with a little sweetness behind it.
