Boss Bottled Intense, from Hugo Boss in 2015, is a spicy woody masculine. Spice and wood are the words everyone uses; about two thirds also find it sweet and floral, and a third notice an aromatic, citrus freshness at the start.
It opens with apple and bergamot, a familiar fruity brightness. The heart is where the intensity lies: cinnamon and cloves give a warm, almost baked spiciness, cardamom adds a cooler edge, and lavender keeps it aromatic and clean. The base combines vanilla with a soft, hay-like coumarin sweetness over cedar and vetiver for a dry woody footing.
Most wearers report moderate longevity, with a good share finding it long lasting, and the projection is generally moderate.
