Capua

Capua is a woody fragrance in the plainest sense: every wearer describes it as woody, and only a minority add resinous or amber. Electimuss, a British house, released it in 2020 with perfumer Christian Provenzano, and it is worn by anyone.

The notes are few and not staged, so the development is more a shift of emphasis than a change of scene. Elemi gives a bright, lemony, slightly peppery resin at the start. Cedar and cashmere wood make up the body, dry and pencil-like on one side, smooth and warm on the other. Vetiver adds an earthy, rooty dryness, and amber rounds the base with a soft, slightly sweet warmth.

There is no community data yet on how long it lasts or how far it carries. A composition this woody and uncluttered tends to suit everyday wear in cooler weather and people who like clean, dry woods without fruit, flowers or obvious sweetness.
