Black Caviar, from Electimuss in 2019, is a sweet floral with a savoury twist. Floral is how everyone describes it, most also call it sweet, about half find it woody, aromatic and ambery, and a minority notice citrus.
The opening is busy: bergamot and mint for freshness, lavender for an aromatic, slightly soapy lift, and cumin for a warm, salty, skin-like spice. The heart pairs rose and tuberose with strawberry, a lush, jammy floral, and sets them against a caviar note and Egyptian balsam, which add a salty, resinous depth to the sweetness. The base of benzoin, vanilla and tonka bean is thick and warm, with patchouli adding earth underneath.
Most wearers report long-lasting to near-permanent wear with strong to moderate projection. It is voted equally for spring and autumn and splits evenly between day and night. Worn by anyone, it suits people who like big, sweet florals with an odd savoury streak running through them.
