Sauvage Very Cool Spray, released by Dior in 2017 and composed by François Demachy, is a fresh, spicy woody fragrance marketed for men. Spice and woods lead equally, citrus is strong, and floral, resinous and aromatic notes add touches.
The opening is bright and peppery: bergamot and grapefruit give a zesty citrus, and pepper a dry spice. The heart is aromatic and spicy, with vetiver and patchouli bringing an earthy depth, elemi a lemony resin, lavender and geranium a herbal floral note, and Sichuan and pink pepper a tingling freshness. The base is cedar and ambroxan, a dry woodiness with a powerful, mineral ambery glow.
Most wearers report it as long lasting, many far longer, and the sillage is strong or enormous. It is voted for summer and spring and is mostly worn by day. It suits hot weather, holidays and casual days, and anyone who likes the Sauvage style in a cooler, peppery form.
