Onyx from Azzaro, created by Francoise Caron in 2005, is an aromatic citrus masculine with a leathery, mossy base. Herbs and citrus lead together, with spicy, woody, floral and leathery facets in support.

It opens with lavender for a clean, herbal freshness, and mandarin orange and bergamot for a bright citrus lift. The heart is aromatic and spicy: basil gives a green, herbal note, cardamom a cool spice and geranium a rosy, slightly minty floral touch. The base is darker and more classic, with patchouli bringing an earthy depth, leather a smooth, smoky texture, oakmoss a mossy richness, and benzoin and amber a warm, resinous glow.

Its fresh-to-warm character makes it versatile, suited to the office by day and evenings in cooler months. It will appeal to someone who wants a classic aromatic masculine with a darker, leathery edge.
