Habanita Eau de Parfum is Molinard's 2012 eau de parfum version of its long-standing Habanita theme. It is a powdery floral at heart, with woods close behind and green, musky, spicy and sweet accents.
The opening is green and slightly resinous: petitgrain brings a bitter, leafy citrus, mastic a piney, balsamic edge and geranium a rosy, minty lift. The heart is crowded and soft, with mimosa, Taif rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine and heliotrope forming a powdery floral cloud, warmed by nutmeg and grounded by cedar and vetiver. The base is rich and vintage in feel, with oakmoss and patchouli for a dark, mossy depth, and amber, vanilla, sandalwood and musk for warmth.
Performance is exceptional by most accounts: many wearers say it lasts far beyond a day, and the sillage is mostly strong. It is voted for winter and autumn and leans towards evening wear. Marketed for women, it suits anyone who loves retro, powdery, mossy floral scents with real staying power.
