Habanita L'Esprit, released by Molinard in 2013, is a floral fragrance with woody and musky depth, a lighter interpretation of the house's classic. It combines powdery flowers with a warm, resinous base.
The opening brings French labdanum, which gives a dark, ambery warmth from the start, along with lemon for brightness and nutmeg for a soft spice. In the heart, rose, heliotrope, jasmine and mimosa create a powdery, gently sweet bouquet, with heliotrope adding an almond-like softness and mimosa a fluffy, honeyed touch. The base of benzoin, patchouli, musk and vetiver is resinous, earthy and smooth.
Wearers are split between moderate and long-lasting performance, and the sillage is mostly moderate or intimate. It is voted mainly for autumn, then spring, and largely for daytime. That makes it an elegant choice for work and daytime occasions in milder weather, suited to someone who enjoys powdery, slightly vintage florals with a warm amber base.
