Ta'if is a spiced rose from Ormonde Jayne, composed by Geza Schoen and released in 2004. Floral is how everyone describes it, about half also find it spicy, and a minority note the ambery warmth of the base.

It opens with pink pepper, saffron and dates, so the rose is announced by a warm, slightly leathery spice and a sticky dried-fruit sweetness. The heart is Taif rose, the fine, slightly peppery variety, supported by jasmine, freesia and orange blossom, which lighten it and keep it from turning heavy. The base is amber and broom, a soft, warm sweetness with a hay-like, honeyed tone from the broom.

Most wearers report long-lasting or moderate performance, and the projection is moderate for most, close to the skin for some. It is voted for spring and autumn and splits evenly between day and night. Worn by anyone, it suits people who want a rose with spice and warmth but without smoke or oud.
