Cucumber and violet leaf open it with a cool, watery greenness that smells like a rain-washed garden. The heart is built on rose and rose de Mai, soft and slightly dewy rather than jammy, with orris root adding a cool, powdery elegance that recalls violets. Leather arrives gradually, dry and supple rather than smoky, while cedar and sandalwood give a smooth woody frame and patchouli an earthy, slightly damp depth underneath.
It is an understated, elegant scent that suits spring and autumn and works well for daytime wear. Anyone who likes rose and iris in a green, woody setting, with a touch of leather for seriousness, should find it rewarding.
