L'Eau de Merzhin, named after Merlin the wizard, is a green fragrance by Anatole Lebreton (2014). Green leads clearly, a fair share of people note flowers, and a smaller group finds sweetness.
The scent evokes a Breton forest. Galbanum and violet leaf give a sharp, green, sappy freshness, and angelica a herbal, slightly musky green with an earthy edge. Grass and hay add the smell of a meadow, freshly cut and drying in the sun. Hawthorn and magnolia bring a pale, slightly almond-like floral note. The base is earthy and soft, with oakmoss for a damp, forest-floor bitterness, orris root for a cool, rooty powder and tonka bean for a gentle, hay-like sweetness.
It is shared and can be worn by anyone. L'Eau de Merzhin suits spring and early summer, daytime and outdoor walks, and should appeal to people who love natural, green, slightly mystical scents.
