L'Eau de Merzhin, named after Merlin the wizard, is a green fragrance by Anatole Lebreton (2014). Green leads clearly, a fair share of people note flowers, and a smaller group finds sweetness.
The scent evokes a Breton forest. Galbanum and violet leaf give a sharp, green, sappy freshness, and angelica a herbal, slightly musky green with an earthy edge. Grass and hay add the smell of a meadow, freshly cut and drying in the sun. Hawthorn and magnolia bring a pale, slightly almond-like floral note. The base is earthy and soft, with oakmoss for a damp, forest-floor bitterness, orris root for a cool, rooty powder and tonka bean for a gentle, hay-like sweetness.
